Why? I love to travel on foot and by kayak or canoe into California’s wildest areas to experience solace, joy and wonder in nature. Large roadless areas and free flowing rivers and streams are essential to sustain California’s astonishing biodiversity— its myriad plants and animals, their native habitats and the natural processes that bind them into a whole that is so much greater than the sum of its parts. These areas also encompass significant cultural landscapes and amazing opportunties for California Tribes to reconnect with the land.
