I love to travel on foot and by kayak or canoe into California’s wildest areas to experience solace, joy and wonder in nature. Large wilderness areas, free flowing rivers and streams, and undeveloped natural areas are essential to sustain California’s astonishing biodiversity— its myriad plants and animals, their native habitats and the natural processes that bind them into a whole that is so much greater than the sum of its parts.

There are many outstanding organizations that advocate for wilderness. I serve on the Board of CalWild, a non-profit that is dedicated to protecting California’s wildest places and watersheds and re-establishing harmonious relationships with the land. Please consider supporting CalWild by making a donation here. Thank you.
